Not a real medical condition.
But one that arrives every time before I travel.
What books should I bring? How many books? Am I bringing enough books?
What if I run out of something to read?
This problem should be solved by having a store of books on my phone. But there is something reassuring and comforting about having a thick paperback in hand when boarding that plane.
But what if the book is a miserable experience? Or if I read through it too fast?
Inevitably, the night before I travel, I have half a dozen books piled up. How heavy is that carry on going to be? Time to parse.
One book, two, three?
And how many times have I returned from a trip only having read fifty pages of one of the three books?
Better safe than sorry.
