The Lost One follows two down-on-their-luck detectives as they attempt to extract a young woman from a dangerous cult in coastal California.
With this story, I worked to bring together a number of elements I think you might like: a noir detective vibe, characters in conflict, occult mystery, weird fiction, and even a smattering of quantum physics and an exploration of the nature of time.

An investigation to the edge of madness
It’s supposed to be a simple job for “Insane” Crane and his partner Hammond: extract the young woman from the Northern California cult. But nothing is ever easy for these two down-on-their-luck detectives.
Crane, a former FBI profiler scarred by the disappearance of his son, straddles the line between reality and madness. The more they investigate the cult, the worse things get: a quantum physicist promising to break time, a trail of missing people, and visions of a world hiding beneath the cracks of ours.
Will Crane rescue the missing girl? Will he discover a clue to his missing son? Will he and Hammond make it out alive from the cult compound?
